mind the hole

_

The great destroyer that sucks it allll in there.

Countless lives have been lost, to trying to fill that giant gaping void in others. No one else can fill it because it’s endless. No one is capable of loving you that much, they could throw themselves in, and sacrifice their own life into the hole and it wouldn’t make you feel better. Everyone you know could do that, it wouldn’t make you feel better.

The problem is the hole doesn't go away no matter what anyone does -- plus it's unfair to expect that of anyone. No-one else can get us out of bed everyday, force us to practise thinking the way we want to think. Practice living a healthy lifestyle, exercising, taking care of ourselves.

We’re the only one capable of helping ourselves, literally. Only we know what keeps us interested, what we want to do. We can train the way we think. No-one else can reach into our mind and do that work for us. It’s work. It’s hard, it takes time and consistency and dedication, and it’s worth it.

Figuring out how to turn the hole around, work around it, be aware of it, change your behavioural patterns. Is a life’s work for all of us. There’s always a hole in everyone. Swiss cheese, remember.

When these holes get too deep to see, the sooner we notice we’re in it, the sooner we can practice the turn around. This hole could be self made, man-made, this hole could be real shit. But, life is worth keeping practicing and carrying on. Sharing, contributing, keeping ourselves interested.
