WHEN LIFE CHANGES

_

We all go through pivotal moments when life fundamentally changes. Loss of a loved one, loss of a dream, war, earthquakes, losing the concept of having a guardian. Things will never be the same, and it’s like living a new life.

Sometimes life changes so many times that you don’t recognise it. Feeling like a slice of floppy Swiss cheese, driving through a tunnel without knowing when it ends, trying to stay on the wheel. All you can really do is give yourself time to get used to it, that sitting with the tension in the space where ends will never meet.

Eventually, you do let go of the innate reach for normality and what life was like before. You start to look at what comes up in front of you. Finding an interesting sort of freedom in losing what you thought life was. In recognising that twinkle; that cheeky, wise, resilience in others too. In starting conversations with those beautiful souls instead of waiting and joining.

We can stick our holey slices together in the right way, so there’s less empty space, near solid at each end. Plus, it’s more fun to share the drive through the tunnels together.

Love you dearly.
